Postpartum exercise can start after six week follow up visit or if the patient has been exercising during pregnancy, they might be able to start sooner, as long as there are no contraindications.

Another important benefit of exercise after pregnancy is improve in your mood, relieve stress and reduce the chances of postnatal depression.
There are no contraindication for mothers that breastfeed regarding light to moderate exercise. Just listen to your body and possibly start at 10 minutes at a time and progress as able. Feel the changes and drink plenty of fluids after to replenish your body with essential minerals.
